THE JOURNEY TO LUPA
Graduating from Newcastle upon Tyne Lydia studied there for 4 years during which time had the good fortune of obtaining an Erasmus scholarship and studied for another year in Belgium, Brussels.
"Studying in another country really opened my eyes to the wider world. Being part of the architectural community enabled me to learn a phenomenal amount and I am now a better architect for it."
Lydia lived and worked in London at FCP for the first 4 years of her career, and worked with Blue Chip clients such as BP & Chevron. She then headed to Oxford where she worked at Ridge and Partners. Following that she joined Spratley and Partners in Henley on Thames for another 4 years. With ambitions for new experience and change Lydia went to work for Arye Chamberlain Gaunt for 3 years. Then as we entered 2020 the whole nation went into lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. Lydia really started to think about the long term and refocused on her dreams.
"Having a successful practice of my own was high on the list as I wanted to create something that I’m proud of for myself and my young family. Therefore, I left the company I was working for in November 2020, which was daunting as they were great to work for and I set up LUPA!"
"I’m excited about the future and look forward to meeting new people and designing buildings you all love and enjoy!"
